WOO’S NEW AND IMPROVED SHOW AND TELL
exhibitions, meetings, woodturning Comments (0)
Woodturners of Olympia continues its ever popular “Show and Tell” of members’ work. You’ll notice a new feature: we have one table designated as the “show table” and another table designated as the “tell table”. Bring as many pieces to show off you’d like, but we ask that each member place only ONE item on the “tell table”.
Before the meeting, members can gather around both the show and the tell tables to talk about the work that has been brought in. During the meeting, only items on the tell table will be shown, and members will have an opportunity to talk about the one piece they have chosen.
Reasons to “Tell”:
0 To show off a project that you are happy with the results.
0 To tell us about a technique, a form/design, a tool or a product you used.
0 To tell us about a challenge, “goof”, or lesson learned during your project.
0 To show us how you turned an “oops” into a “design opportunity”.
0 To ask for feedback, or pose a question in a desire to improve your work.
0 To acknowledge how you have applied the things you have gained from a meeting, a class, a mentor or video/book/article.
This is an opportunity to celebrate our progress as well as the incredible joy and beauty of our craft, so all skill levels are encouraged to contribute to show and tell.
